Hi sir. 1st u need to reduce your pain, seems like u might be having this since atleast 1.5 yrs. So some pain relieving modality, then some manipulation n back exs including ergonomics will help. When u r done with this regime for 2 months then gym can be started.
Lysis is a normal variation in the spine and not a problem. One goes in the pain because of weakness of spinal muscle groups.
Next Steps
You need to strengthen your spinal muscles and eventually go for core training. initially you will have to do the exercises regularly but later as you practice you will be able to go towards core training.do atleast 2 times / week core training normally combining it with your cardio session.please avoid heavy lifting of weights until your core strength develops.
Health Tips
symptomatic electrotherapy can be taken for few days for pain.Remember your exercises are important and getting good extension and abdominal strength will control pain.

Hello
First I think you Should reduce your pain Then you start with isometric exercises when pain is reduced start with flexion or extension exercises whichever is stable in xray. Join gym only when you have gained the minimum strengthening of back muscles
Hope it will help
