You have described back pain shooting down upto the feet. This can be due to pressure on the nerves in the back, eg. slipped disc, leading to sciatica. Less common causes can be Vitamin B12 deficiency, or vascular problems(blood flow problems). Diabetes can cause foot cramps but not backache. You should consult an Orthopaedic Surgeon who will get some Xrays done and if required, an MRI of the spine.
