Lower back pain
I feel unbearable lower back pain once or twice every year when I tried to lift something heavy. The pain continues for a week gradually reducing itself. I am unable to sit upfront on a chair or bed for first 2-3 days. Is anything serious as it happens at the spine area of lower back at waistline.

Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

Hello It seems that you do not have sufficient muscular strength to lift heavy weights. So, first you need to build proper muscle strength only then you will be able to lift those heavy weights.It would lead you to other back problems like disc herniation, retrolisthesis, muscle pull, muscle spasm and many more.

Yes the isssue is serious if you are not taking proper treatment the frequency and intensity of these episodes will increase.
Next Steps
Proper supervised exercises under supervision for 3 month, 3 session per week. followed by self exercise session regulary at least 1-2 per week for 6 months

It may be disc problem, treatment depending upon age, and activity level. But remember it may recur if not treated properly.
