Low platelet count
I had low platelet count. Two doctors made two different diagnosis. One is DIC/SEPSIS And one doctor said thormbocytopenia. Are the same thing? Is it a symptom or actual dignosis?

Thrombocytopenia or low platelet counts are a result of multiple causes. It can happen with many diseases, from bacterial infection to viral syndrome, to malignancy alcoholism to serious multi systemic involvement of diseases. DIC is a multisystem disorderdue to infection,  malignancy which affects the coagulation cascade leading to capillary bleed.  It is a very serious condition.

DIC is not only on the basis of Thrombocytopenia. It also has to be supported by coagulation profile. Kindly upload the report.

Sepsis can lead to DIC , and this can be a diagnosisbut  thromobocytopenia is a symptom,
