Lose of interest, heart heavy.
Hi doctor Last mom I went to see a general physician as I was losing weight, my skill glow and not feeling well. He examined me and said I am in depression. I knew  about this, he just validated that. He gave me a medicine called tryptomer 25 mg. It worked i was at least able to sleep and my mind was relaxed but once the medicines were over after a few more days. Things went worse. I am not able to focus, concentrate, i never feel like eating, i am an overthinker but i am suffering a lot, lots of emotions are going on with me . I sometimes cry without any reason like hell. I have been facing this for a year but i was not accepting my situation. He was the general physician who gave me the medicine so should I go and consult him or look for a physiatrist? I am preparing for an MBA but not able to focus on studies, i sometimes don't want to get out of bed. It's 2am and I still can't sleep.. What should I do? Is it bcoz of overthinking only? I try not to think but can't control my mind.

I'm really sorry to hear that you're going through such a difficult time. It sounds like you're experiencing persistent symptoms of depression and it's impacting various aspects of your life, including your ability to focus, concentrate, eat, and sleep. It's important to seek appropriate help and support to address your mental health concerns. While a general physician can provide initial assessment and treatment for depression, it's generally recommended to consult a mental health professional, such as a psychiatrist or a psychologist, for a more comprehensive evaluation and ongoing care. Psychiatrists are medical doctors who specialize in mental health and can prescribe medications, while psychologists focus on psychotherapy and other non-medication-based treatments. Given the severity and duration of your symptoms, I would suggest reaching out to a psychiatrist or a mental health professional who specializes in mood disorders. They can evaluate your condition more thoroughly, assess the effectiveness of the medication you've been taking, and determine whether adjustments are needed in your treatment plan. They can also provide additional therapeutic interventions that can help you manage your symptoms and improve your overall well-being. Remember, seeking professional help is an important step toward finding the right support and treatment for your mental health.
