Sx â skin changes, pruritus, hepatomegaly, malaise, asterix, spider angioma, jaundice, fatigue.
PE â
Skin - yellow.
Abd - distended, caput medusa.
Liver - hepatomegaly.
Eyes - icterus.
Extremities.
Next Steps
Dx â Admit to Hospital for full diagnostic Work-Up and referral to Hepatologist. ⢠CBC - Thrombocytopenia, leukopenia. CMP (AST, ALT, Alk Phos, Bili), GGT. Lipids, Hepatitis panel, Coags (PT/PTT/INR). Abdomen Ultrasound. Imaging U/S or CT, GI consult, Liver Bx.
Health Tips
Tx â No alcohol, no NSAIDS. Nutrition consult, Paracentesis and diuretics for ascites. Hep C, Ribavirin, lamivudine. Encephalopathy â lactulose, neomycin.
