Little & ring fingers pain in both hands

I am experiencing little and ring finger s pain in both hands since 3 years. I am considered as CTS patient and prescribed vrious gabapantin combination medicines. Since month pain is triggered. Then went for MRI according to my neurologist. It shown nerve compression in c5 c6 c7 nerve (which has no related to CTS and it's a by birth defect) and am adviced to meet neurosurgeon.
Then I met a top neurosurgeon experienced 40+ years and he confirmed pain is not caused due to said compression. And he suggested to meet a neurologist with emg who is experienced in treating CTS.
Am still confused that am I need to consult a neurologist or orthopedist?
Please guide me.
