Lithium is a standard and effective long-term treatment for bipolar mania. It is generally safe when taken under regular medical monitoring. Blood tests for lithium level, kidney function, and thyroid function are required every few months to keep it in the safe range. When monitored properly, lithium is one of the most reliable medicines to prevent mood episodes. Please continue follow-ups with the psychiatrist to ensure safe and effective long-term use
