I have lip getting dry problem. My lips are black and have dark spots on them. There is cracking in the corners of the mouth. when i stop using my lip balm lips become dry and i am not even able to open my mouth. I consulted so many skin doctors but they always prescribe steroid creams without finding the underlying cause. how can i find the underlying cause. (FYI. I have done patch test with a skin doctor and i dont have any allergy . I dont smoke )

Drying lips and cracking at the corner of mouth are the signs of Angular Chelitis. For this drink ample amount of fluids with a bit of salt coz that will help your body to retain fluids inside your body and take Vitamin C rich diet or tablets of Vitamin C

The only way is to keep them moisturized. Also you could increase your water intake. Do you have a dry mouth too. Also you may be having vitamin deficiency, did you get that tested. Vit A, B2 and B6. Get multivitamins to see if it improves. Try and use a mild lip scrub before using lip balm. A good treatment would be microdermabrasion too.
