Based on your description, it sounds like you have developed a fibrous scar band on the inner lip following the injury. Since it has been many months after the trauma and you’re experiencing stiffness, difficulty everting the lip, and occasional burning or dryness, the scar is likely mature. If the scar is small and only mildly symptomatic, conservative measures such as scar massage, stretching exercises, and keeping the area well-lubricated may provide some improvement. However, if the scar is restricting lip movement or causing persistent discomfort, surgical treatment may be required. * Conventional surgical excision is generally preferred for a dense fibrous scar because it allows complete removal of the scar tissue and, if needed, release of the fibrous band with careful closure to restore lip mobility. * Laser excision can offer benefits such as reduced bleeding and postoperative discomfort, but it is not necessarily superior for every scar. The choice depends on the thickness, depth, and location of the scar, as well as the surgeon’s expertise.b hi
Next Steps
I would recommend consulting an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon or an Oral Medicine specialist for a clinical examination. They can assess whether the restriction is due to superficial scarring or a deeper fibrous band and advise the most appropriate treatment.
Health Tips
In the meantime: * Continue using a lip moisturizer if dryness is bothersome. * Avoid repeatedly biting or stretching the area forcefully. * If burning becomes frequent, an examination is important to rule out other causes in addition to the scar.

Hello Mam. I understand your concern. As per your given history it seems like the scar tissue site has undergone fibroses now, which explains the stiffness, dryness and at times burning sensation. You can definitely opt for scar correction via Laser.. Surgical excision might not be necessary as it is 1cm small fibrosed area. But a clinical analysis of scar area would be better to diagnose and plan the required Treatment. Hope this insight was helpful.
Next Steps
Visit a dentist ( who practises laser treatment) or dermatologist.
Health Tips
Keep the area well moisturised as dryness will often cause bit tingling sensation or burning sensation. It is advised to visit the doctor sooner as the longer the scar rests the more sessions it might require to recover.
