Lines on nails
Can iron and zinc deficiency cause vertical black lines in nails ? I have them in multiple nails and my 8 month old has a brownish on his toe nail.

Hello, Yes it can be due to nutritional deficiencies but you need to share pictures as well as detailed history like menstrual history, any other symptoms, history of taking any medication, history of prolonged illness. For your 8 mths old baby, again you need  to share a picture as it can also due to trauma or fungal infection which has to be treated as soon as possible

Black lines on nails can be due to a lot of reasons. It is melanonychia, can be due to trauma, systemic ailments, a form of nail mole or rarely even subungal melanoma
