Ligament damage in ankle portion
I have consulted a ortho doc. last week. He put POP for my leg and ankle portion. The very next day after it dried, it was very loose and not holding my leg tight. The purpose of putting POP was totally waste. The doc. said to put crepe bandage on POP to make it hold grip. Then he opened the POP very next day and stretched it and tied crepe bandage. Is this the procedure?? Somebody please answer.. I have ligament damage in ankle portion.

A temporary slab for 5 days is important at first as the swelling definitely reduced with rest. Once swelling is down (say 1 week with slab) then a plaster if put (synthetic or POP)
Next Steps
Get everything removed. Get slab applied for a week then after that cast.
Health Tips
There is no point tying a crepe over a loose cast.

The usual treatment for a ankle sprain ( ligament injury ) is a pop cast for 3weeks or a walking boot cast ( fibre cast) . It sometimes so happens that if the ankle swelling has reduced after initial pop cast application the cast becomes loose . As long as it’s serving the purpose of immobilization no need to change . Putting a compressive bandage such as in your case a crepe also serves the purpose depending upon the degree of injury which can be determined through a MRI .
Next Steps
Suggest you to get a walking boot cast
