Leg fracture
I met with an accident in which my leg bone beneath the knee got disintegrated. I was treated at Noble hospital where the doctor affixed plates to join my broken bones. I am now taking rest at home waiting for complete cure. I am walking with the hel of a walker as the doctor advised that my left leg should not touch the ground. What should I do now?

Hi mam for ur below knee fracture fixed with open reduction and internal fixation. There is a general protocol for this condition, day of surgery is said as zero day, next day is day 1 from there on 6 to 8 weeks is said to be non weight bearing were ur not allowed to touch ur feet on the floor after 8 weeks with ur bone healing process is good we go for partial weight bearing exercises for 9- 10 weeks by end of 12 weeks initial weight bearing to full weigh bearing will be started by end 15-16 weeks we complete full weight bearing with stair climbing. This is the Normal protocol for tibia bone fracture as its the main weight bearing bone of the leg. If its fibula a non weight bearing bone the total protocol changes. The weeks calculations differ for every surgeon's depending on ur surgeon it will be planned accordingly.
