Left side of throat hurts more and more
At first I thought it was a sore throat from straining my voice while doing karaoke in a smoky dive bar. The pain is increasing and it's only on the left side of my neck / throat. I don't really eel an obvious swelling, but I do suppose it doesn't feel exactly like the other side. I've had swollen nodes before, but this has been over a week and they usually go away by resting my voice.

After a night in a karaoke bar. Check whether you have a aphthous ulcer. This is usually self limiting. In case you are in more trouble the best advice of course can be given after an examination
