Left knee bone gap due to accident

My brother who is in Hyderabad got slight auto accident on left leg (slight hit by auto on left leg while crossing the road). in X-Ray dr told that there is slight gap happened (miss aligned) andDear Doctor
My brother who is in Hy applied the full belt and suggesting that he needs to go for minor surgery for putting screw on the gap, be cause he may get some knee issues later. He is at 48 years now. Please suggest whether the bandage is enough or required any surgery? Attaching X-RAY
