Left ankle swelling
My mom had slipped from stair and had fallen down. Then she had swelling on her left ankle. When we had suggested with an orthopedics doctor he confirmed a slight crack on bone from the xray. Does she need a cast on her ankle?

I presume that your doctor would have suggested Conservative management. The need for cast or compression bandage depends on the severity of the injury which can be determined only by physical examination. So discuss with your treating physician and probably if you post his notes then I can comment more clearly. The current question cannot be answered convincingly
