Learning problem
My child is now 4 yrs 7 months old. He is Sr.kg. He is unable to write the letters. He is able to write A,B,D and M. He writes Y upside down. I tried to make him write by threatening him, shouting him and hitting him. I also used to say I will go away and leave him alone. but still he doesn't write. He doesn't like to hold the pencil. When we give him chalk he likes to write above letters only. He likes to draw half moon and tyres of car. In numbers he can write 1,2,3,5. He writes 5 from bottom to top. He writes 7 from opposite direction. When we ask him what is your name., he will repeat the question instead of answering it. He repeats some sentences twice or thrice. Please suggest what should we do in such a case. How should we teach him to write and speak.

Madam Your child from what you have mentioned seems to be having dyslexia. It's a disorder where a child have problems in writing or reading letter with particular shapes as their brain can not differentiate left from right etc. God news is with little efforts this can be worked through. Now my concern is you child's repeating some drawings and repeating word / sentences.  I would suggest you seek opinion of a Psychiatrist dealing with children and get him assessed. Once a clear diagnosis is made things can be taken further from there.
