I am having L4 L5, L5 S1 disc bulge with diameter 5.9 mm. Pain radiating till right leg ankle. I am walking slightly tilted. Doctors are saying it needs surgery. I want to know if it really needs surgery or any other option is still there. Can I get it healed with proper care, physiotherapy and medication

Most likely It's Lumbar disc bulge with nerve root irritation ..
✓disc bulge, not an emergency condition, so surgery is not the first step.
✓In most patients like you, pain improves significantly with medicines and supervised physiotherapy within 6–8 weeks
✓Surgery is mandatory only if there is Progressive leg weakness,Foot drop,Loss of bladder/bowel control,Severe pain not improving after 6–8 weeks of proper conservative care ..
