Dear relative, If she has so much oain that her day to day activities is restricted.  And if ur orthopaedic consultant has prescribed surgery then go for it.  What she had is osteoarthritis ( degenerative disease age related).  Tge more u delay the more  she sufers from pain and she will day by day restricts her daily activities that one day she would prefer ti be in bed only.  Her quality of life will improve.  You can try other non surgical option like ayurvedic,  oil massage, physiotherapy and many others,  where she might get benefit.  But he benefits she will get from surgery will be the most helpful. What u di to a chair's leg which is in bad position and weak?  Do u just paint it and use or u replace the chair or chair legs abd then use the chair.
