Kidney stones and hydronephrosis
I have been detected with kidney stone and hydronephrosis. Doctor suggested I need immediate surgery. Is it possible that stone can be cured without surgery and with medicines? What could be done for hydronephrosis?

Hello mam, On the left side, the stone size is very small and unless it is painful, it can be managed with medication. However, the stone on the right side is sitting on the mouth of the kidney, so urine is not able to flow through it properly. Hence, due to backpressure, kidney is swelling slightly which is called hydronephrosis. Since the size of the stone is below 2 cm, you can easily get it removed through minimally invasive procedures in which there are no cuts or incisions made on the body. The procedure is small, and you can go back home within 24 hours. Since I make no cuts or incisions for such small stones, there are no stitches put on the body anywhere. Please consult online for specific details and guidance. Thank you.

Hydronephrosis suggests that the stone is obstructing the path of urine. This needs to be removed through surgery. Medicine can only help on small size stones which are non obstructing
