An upper ureteric stone 12mm needs treatment even if u don't have symptoms otherwise there are chances of kidney damage. The options available are 1.eswl - non surgical) , laser urs and pcnl. The last 2 options are minimal invasive surgery.
U can decide upon what u want after discussing the pros and cons of all the procedures.
