Please don’t refer to google for diagnosis, it will always give you a life threatening diagnosis for even the mildest of things. Ganglionic cyst will give symptoms of neuropathy, pain etc. Since you haven’t mentioned any other symptoms and the fact that it has been there for one year with no symptoms ,It is most likely a lipoma. It can be removed in a short sitting. It is harmless. Nothing to be scared about it. Depending on its placement, possible future symptoms, and cosmetic reasons you can get it removed. Please consult a general surgeon or dermatologist near you for further treatment.

It can be a ganglion cyst or a small infected boil. Depends on what ot looks like and feels like and the site at which it is there. If anything, go to a hospital to surgery department, They will give you a local anaesthesia agent in the local site and you won't feel pain. It will be a short procedure where they will remove that swelling and you won't experience any kind of pain during surgery. Get rid of it in one day and forget about it the next day. Until then, take tablet Augmentin 625mg one tablet after lunch, one after dinner for seven days to avoid any further spread of infection.
