Itchy hives
I have been having itchy hives for past two weeks where initially there was a blood test done to check my sugar level and Relative WBC count also a motion test was done .Everything showed normal .I was taking antibiotics and xyzal tablets .Later once the medicines were over in a week i got the itchy hives once again where i was asked to take absolute eosinophill count and ige serum tests .Both showed a result of IGE-497 and absolute eosinophill count as 0.64 (10^3/ul) .The medical physician told me its because of the spike the itchy hives are coming again . Is this something serious ? .How to reduce the levels back to normal.

Treatment does not change even if ige level is normal. You are suffering from what Dermatologist call urticaria. Common causes are food allergy, infection or drugs taken for some condition. It presents with itching resulting in formation of red rashes which we call hives or wheals. Although in most cases cause remains unknown in spite of a thorough search. It can be treated with medicines so that you do not get any new hives. The treatment should be prolonged until it resolves which usually takes 1 to 6 months. Please contact me through online consult option for further details and treatment..
