First date of last period: 22 June Cycle length: 28 days (regular) Ovulation date according to tracking application: 6th July. Had unprotected sex (pullout method) on 4th July early morning and within 10 hours took the ipill. Then the next day (at around 6PM) had another round of unprotected sex, though the male ejaculated outside mostly, but pretty sure some semen might have been ejaculated inside. Mild spotting drops (on toilet paper) was observed on 5th and 6th July (after taking the first ipill on 4th July) Is another i-pill required or necessary here? Please advise as soon as possible! Also is there anything else I should be worried about, related to side effects of ipill or any pregnancy symptoms?

The first i-pill taken within 10 hours is effective for that episode. Since the second intercourse happened the very next day (within 24â36 hours), the first pill's hormonal levels are still active and should provide coverage for the second episode as well â a second pill is not strictly necessary. The spotting on 5thâ6th July is a common and expected side effect of levonorgestrel (i-pill), not a sign of pregnancy. However, given your ovulation was expected around 6th July, there is some timing concern. To be safe, take a urine pregnancy test 3 weeks from 5th July (around 26th July) for confirmation.
Next Steps
Do a urine pregnancy test on 26th July if your period doesn't come on time. Avoid using i-pill as regular contraception â consider a more reliable method. Consult me on Practo for further guidance.
