Hi,
My 3 year old child has been immunized as per the recommendations of the pediatrician.
She was given 4 - IPV doses and around 6 OPV doses in the past 3 years.
Is there still a need to go for the OPV pulse polio drive? We are a bit concerned due to the coronavirus situation hence asking else would have got it done with any hesitation.
Regards,
Sahil

Yes it required. Pulse polio drive is giving oral polio vaccine depending upon strain of poliomyelitis case detection. This is not regular vaccine. It is vaccine made to order depending upon the new case detected They find the strain and make vaccine to protect children from that particular strain.
Next Steps
Every time pulse polio drive is on, you must give the dose even though baby has received all required doses.
