Hi, my husband has dengue positive, his platelet counts were dropped from 1.3 to 1.57 yesterday then today it's decreased again from 1.57 to 48000. Now it's 28000. Can I give him papaya leaves juice to drink because my present doctor said there will be many side effects and complications if I give papaya leaf juice. The count is 28000 so it dangerous, please tell me what to do, we are tensed. Patient had bodypain yesterday but today headache is bothering much.

This drop in paltelet count feom 1.57 to 48000 is considered as significant drop.
Don't give him papaya juice. Your doctor is right. It will create gastritis.
Give him tab pantoprazole 40 mg od
Syp oxetacaine 2 tsf tds
Tab pcm 500 mg bid/sos
Tab doxycycline 100 mg bid
No painkillers
Ideally arrange 4 units of platelet. And be prepared for transfusion if the count drop further.
Watch for any signs of bleed like a rash/blood in irine/black stools.
Next Steps
plenty of water
online consultation if symptoms do not improve/progess.
