Is Amlip AT tablet safe while breastfeed
I am 4.5 months postpartum and have high bp. Doctor suggested Amlip AT tablet in dose ½ tablet per day. Is this safe for my baby? I forgot to ask the doctor about this concern and I am not able to connect her. Please help 🙏

Yes, it is generally safe. Amlip AT contains amlodipine + atenolol. Both are considered compatible with breastfeeding in usual doses, and only very small amounts pass into breast milk.

Amlip-AT (usually Amlodipine + Atenolol) can be used during breastfeeding, but it isn’t preferred: amlodipine is safe with minimal milk transfer, whereas atenolol enters breast milk in higher amounts and may cause bradycardia, lethargy, or poor feeding in the infant—especially in neonates or preterm babies. If possible, safer alternatives like Labetalol or Nifedipine are recommended; if already on Amlip-AT, breastfeeding can continue with monitoring of the baby.
