You are 42 years old. You must have had the children you want. At this stage you should have basic investigations related to perimenopausal state like a BP check,  Gynaecological check up, Sonography, Pap smear, a Complete Health Check up package from one of the Multinational Laboratories. If you have excessive or irregular periods then you should also have a D&C which will be Diagnostic but it also can cure your problem. For further information please consult with me on Practo.
