My sister had diagonised of coronary blood vessel block 5 years back and doctor has placed a stent. Recently, my sister has frequent chest pain. We visited the doctor again and he suggested to diagonise again by invasive angiography. I asked the doctor about that cant we proceed with non-invasive CT-angiography? Then he told that we cannot get a clear image with CT-angiography as your sister already had a stent. Is it true? My sister is worried of invasion. Please suggest me what to do. Thanks

I think yr cardiologist has rightly advised u . If already angioplasty is done and now complaints of chest pain we need to do the routine conventional angiogram , as CT will not give any idea about the blocks inside the stent( instent restenosis).
CT angio is good for post bypass patients .
