There are 3 options in in long acting type if insulin
1)glargine
2)detemir
3)degludec
Out of this 3 1st two have duration of action of about 24 hours and degludec has duration of action of more than 40 hours.
And out of the first two glargine has one disadvantage over detemire that glargine can't be mixed witg the short acting insulins.
