Dear Night shift worker, Our body has a bilogical clock which makes us sleep at night and wake up in morning, working night shifts disturbs this clock and cause it difficult to asleep in day, poor quality sleep, irritability, excessive tiredness and may lead to depressive features. Things which can help you are try to keep your bedroom dark, don't drink tea / coffee in second half of your shift, avoid smoking, use dark goggles while returning back from work, have light food before going to sleep. There are medications containing melatonin a Harmone which maintains biological clock and assist sleep , that will help to initiate sleep. But if you are feeling to die because of lack of sleep, then there is underlying depression for which we may need antidepressants. So consult a psychiatrist or sleep physician and get a healthy sleep. All the best
