You will be discharged from the hospital in two to three days after the Laparoscopy surgery. You don’t need to stay in bed, but it’s best to rest as you may be tired and irritable. After 48 hours, there is no limit on your physical activity as long as you’re not taking narcotic medication. You may take a shower or bath 2 days after your surgery. You may return to college or work when you feel ready (usually about 5 days after your surgery). It will take time to heal, but you should feel better each day. Will I have a scar?? Most incisions look red at first but fade over time so the scar is hardly noticeable. However, sometimes people develop a thicker type of scar that has extra fibrous tissue — this is called a “keloid scar”.
Next Steps
Have a detailed discussion with your surgeon prior to planning your Laparoscopy. God bless. Have a speedy recovery.
