I am suffering from inguinal hernia, doctor suggested for surgery with mesh. But as mesh is foreign object, I don't want to get it placed in my groin area. I wanted to know whether is there any treatment option available for inguinal hernia repair without mesh?

Hi Dear.Thank very much for your concern about Surgery of Inguinal hernia.
Hopefully you are talking about Laproscopic repair of Inguinal hernia with mesh.
I ll suggest you go through with mesh dear..because it required..because there is lots of benefits of using mesh in hernia surgery.like Surgical mesh is used to strengthen the area around the hernia to reduce the rate of recurrence. The chances of hernia recurrence are decreased by up to 50% when using mesh.
Actually The pores in the mesh allow tissue to grow into the device. The mesh supports the primary repair of the muscle tissue. So please go through only by mesh dear..if you ll not used mesh then the chances of recurrence is quite higher.
And if you ll choose a good surgeon for surgery then nothing to worry about any complications
Next Steps
Go through only mesh Hernioplasty.
Send me your ultrasound reports.
