Dear doctors, I have a strong fear of rabies and I have taken like 5 (full course) in 2021, 6 boosters in total (3 twice) in 2022 and 11 boosters in 2023 ( 2, 3,3,3) as I had read immunity valid for 3 months. I am just a student and don't have much knowledge. But when I read on internet that rabies virus can be active for several hours on metal and surfaces in low temp and poor sunlight I especially get very scared in winters.
Is surface transmission really possible if say a monkey, dog or cat was on our car, scooter or gates of house and I touch it after 5-10 minutes and get a cut or bruise?
