  4. Infection in finger. And can it kill me?

I got a splinter that was about an inch long embedded into my finger, from a live tree. It took 14 hrs to remove and there may be pieces left behind. It almost went through my entire finger. I went to sleep and woke up with redness and swelling as well as stiffness of my finger. What should I watch for, and can it kill me?

You need to be on antibiotics asap See a doctor to prevent spread of possible infection
