Infant jaundice of 7th day
My sons bilirubin level on 4th day morning... at that time his eyes not even yellowish is came around 11.2...but on 4 th day evening his eyes turned fully yellowish.. ..he was given phototherapy from fourth day night to fifth day evening,around 8 hours..we were discharged and recommend to consult after 48 hours with bilirubin test...on 7 th day his bilirubin levels were at 16.3...he is having only breastfeeding.. today is his 8th day and his eyes yellowness is slightly decreased...will this decrease gradually or any thing to concern...

Usually it will be physiological jaundice of newborn, the bilirubin level reduces by 7th day in term infants, repeat it after 24hrs. Advice to breastfeed the infant regularly and keep watch on urine output. For further queries book an online consultation with me

Yes this deccreses normally with age. But since bilirubin is more then 15.plz repeat after 24 hors. If more then 20.child need Phototherspy
