Inactive, Withdrawn, Sleeps all day long
My brother has been in treatment for 3yrs for mental health issues (1st diagnosed as depressive disorder, then partial schizophrenia, currently F20). He has high thyroid levels too. He keeps sleeping all day long and is unwilling to do anything else. He talks with extreme awkwardnss & has many OCD-type quirks. In past he used to be a class topper & very active. Now on asking to study, do any chores or activities, he simply refuses and keeps sleeping. Not sure if treatment is helping, what to do?

Currently it is he is suffering from paranoid schizophrenia. Continue psychiatric treatment in a modern hospital. I also suggest to consult a homoeopathic physician. Homoeopathy has some miracle results in mental disorders. With modern medicine and homoeopathic treatment patient may response well. If patient can take counselling then also consult psychologist for some behaviour modification.

It could be due to medications also.. Also, he needs therapy, he reboot himself,  and to redefine his future... A visit to a psychological counselor would be useful... Or, you could seek an online consultation also.
