Hi. Definitely it’s osteoarthritis of the knee both sides and she must be having pain on inner aspect of both the knees. Also stair climbing and walking on inclines surface causes pain. So to start with Some conservative management including quadriceps Physiotherapy and analgesics are suggested. But if they’re not working then taking analgesics for too long is not good for her so visit a joint replacement surgeon to decide upon whether she is perfect for joint replacement or not. Definitely she needs a clinical examination first.

She does have predominantly Medial compartment OA. However, OA is wear and tear of the joints and treatment depends on the type and severity of symptoms. Total knee replacement is not the only option. Please see a Knee Specialist in your area for a proper evaluation and treatment. Best wishes.
