IBS is a habitual problem. A form of lifestyle disease. Most importantly it’s because of less fibre diet. Avoid taking antibiotics unless there is definitive infection. The sign of infection will be seen in CBC and symptoms will be high fever with abdominal pain.
Imodium is a drug of choice for short term benefit if diarrhoea occurs otherwise frequent loose stools is common due to high mucus secretions so no Imodium to be taken as it will cause constipation.
Life style modification needed in form of low fat high fibre and frequent small quantity of meals
Excerise and no smoking or alcohol intake
Avoid oil and spicy food
Get a CBC blood test and a CT abdomen rectum and colon
