When hypothyroidism cause enlarged thyroid gland compressing nerve that controls voice in throat, hoarseness can occur.

Yes it can be because of hypothyroidism and also because of many other things. Just get evaluated appropriately and then start the treatment.  Blindly starting anything will do more harm than good.
