Hydronephrosis with urine infection
5 months son has urine infection (full field pus cells with 3+ albuminuria) and ultrasound has hydronephrosis of one kidney, one kidney is normal. After starting antibiotic for one week, now child is having 4-5 pus cells but protein is still 3+. Pls tell why protein is not getting better. Thanks Child was normal till now since birth. Pls tell why so much protein is coming in urine

Albumin is present because the kidney got infected. It will take 2 weeks of antibiotics to fully recover and protein to stop coming in urine

Further tests - scan, VCUG may help to know the  extent of the problem

In long standing hydronephrosis. Other kind of medical renal diseases creep in. We can talk about this over a formal consult. Too serious an issue.
