HVS results
I'm currently 18+2 weeks pregnant. I had yellow discharge for which I had taken a high vaginal swab. Results are as follows: Gram Stain - Many pus cells, epithelial cells and gram negative bacilli seen. Organism Name - Ecoli. Methodology Name - Kirby Bauer Growth Observed - Scanty. Comments: ESBL: Positive Clinical resistance to therapy may be seen with penicillin, cephalosporins or aztreonam. What does this mean ? I previously had another HVS taken 3 weeks back and it showed moderate growth of Enterococcus faecalis. For which i was prescribed ampicillin 500mg. How to avoid these infections? I have a polyp in my cervical canal And also a cervical cerclage + arabin pessary placed due to history of miscarriage due to cervical incompetence.
