There is a possibility of fracture that needs to be ruled out. I would advise you to visit the orthopedician so that you can be assessed and undergo investigations such as X-Ray,etc. to find the underlying cause and have it treated accordingly. These following steps may help:
- Apply ice over the leg for 10-15 minutes 3-4 times a day.
- Keep the leg raised while lying down by applying 2 pillows under the leg and while sitting keep it raised on a chair or a stool.
- Do not put any pressure on the injured leg and try to stay off it.
If the problem persists or worsens visit the ER at the earliest.
