Give exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months. Feeding should be on demand. Usually baby takes breast feed for 12 to 15 min. Baby will cry with hunger for next feed after 2 to 2.5 hr. If remain sleeping for 3 hr then wake up the baby and feed. Before 2 hr if baby cries there will be other causes like before and after passage of stool or urine, want to be in mother's lap, any pain or fever etc.
If baby is passing urine 4 to 5 time/ 24 hr, gaining weight, breast feeding will be adequate
