I had herpes on my lips in november. On December 4th i diagnosed with yeast infection with sores inside my vagina. After Vaginal yeast Treatment.. sores are still there and I'm feeling burning sensation. My doctor suggested me to go to Herpes test my HSV IGg test comes positive with 30.0 but my IGM test comes negative. IGG comes positive because i had lip herpes but how to know that the sores which i'm still having are HSV type 2? I'm very confused.

There is no value of IgM testing in herpes. IgG is sensitive if not at least 90 days later. Otherwise it could be false negative for both HSV 1/2. Give history of exposure and share the reports

Hi..Herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2), which causes genital herpes, does not go away. It remains in the body for life, lying dormant in nerve cells. However, symptoms can be managed, and outbreaks can be controlled or minimized.
