HSG- very painful?
I wanted to understand how painful HSG can be. Also how long does the procedure last? I have a low threshold for pain and have high anxiety in general.

Hi..HSG is  painful procedure, but again  depends upon patient pain tolerance .I do atleast 5-10 HSG in a month,80%of patients tolerate ..procedure takes 10-15 mins  but prior injection and consent and explainaing about the procedure ( which I feel very important for my patients ) takes 30-45 mins . But if a patient cannot tolerate internal examination in OPD,I suggest HSG under aneasthesia.

Have you had any delivery or abortion earlier ? How fat are you ? You have told us one thing that you have a low pain threshold. The intensity of pain during HSG depends on so many other factors.
