How to trust people
How to trust someone new again, after heartbreaks, betrayal, cheating? I do remind myself it's in the past, but new people keep repeating the same things.

It’s completely understandable to feel hesitant about trusting again after experiencing betrayal and heartbreak. Your mind is trying to protect you from being hurt the same way, which is why it keeps reminding you of the past. But the key to rebuilding trust isn’t about blindly believing everyone—it’s about learning to trust yourself first. When you develop strong boundaries, recognize red flags early, and trust your ability to handle situations, you won’t feel as vulnerable. Instead of rushing into trust, allow people to earn it gradually through their actions, not just words. It’s also important to reflect on patterns—if the same kind of people keep hurting you, is there something familiar about them that attracts you? Sometimes, we unconsciously repeat cycles until we break them. Healing isn’t about trusting everyone again, but about choosing wisely and knowing that even if someone does let you down, you have the strength to walk away without breaking yourself. If you struggle with this deeply, therapy can help you rebuild self-trust and recognize healthy connections. Hi I would like to tell you it’s more about you than other people. Experiences like Heartbreak can leave us with few negative beliefs about ourselves about others and about the world in general. And most of the times the beliefs are not 100% true , it’s just that a persons view point changes and these beliefs start to rule their world. So if you want to break this cycle for yourself , you will have to understand your belief system and slowly work on it to chance your perspective again. CBT ( Cognitive behaviour therapy ) can help.
Next Steps
Take a consultation from a psychotherapist.
