Every body has its own sleep requirements,but an healthy person should sleep for 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep.for a good night sleep avoid sleeping in the day time.

To conclude the sleep pattern , we need to know your routine, life style and work pattern. If you are in armed forces your sleep pattern will be rotational. As a student it will be different for different students
If you follow healthy habits 6-8 hours range is good.
Though sleep during, afternoon should not be post lunch. Afternoon sleeps are also known as power nap, can be taken for 15 mins to 45 mins
