I don't feel okay mentally
Hi doctors! I have not been feeling okay for quite some time now(atleast 6 months now). I lost my job last year, and now I'm in a bit of a sticky situation and feeling extremely overwhelmed. Everything feels extremely heavy and I don't feel like doing anything at all. Just sleep maybe. My appetite is disturbed. My mind feels like it's constantly crying and I'm struggling to supress it. I'm already on antidepressants and have tried talking to therapists but it didn't work much. I'm not much of a talker and have been diagnosed with chronic depression and show signs of schizoid personality disorder. I don't know what to do now or how to seek useful help and I'd rather die than live this way since it's getting too suffocating.

Dear 'I don't feel ok mentally', First of all I would like you to know that everyone goes through tough phases in their lives. It usually makes you stronger when you have finished the time of struggle. I feel that though you were depressed and having some schizoid personality related issues in the past, you seem better now and capable of handling your issues. Based on your request for help, I feel you have accepted your diagnosis but I also feel you are now better aware and prepared and not needing so much medication. The diagnosis looks like your past that you have overcome. I wonder if there is anything else that is troubling you. With Regards, Dr.Nisha James
Next Steps
Please ponder on : 1)when was your last consultation with a psychiatrist? 2)have the medicines been moderated or regulated as per need ? 3)have any of the medicines changed recently? 4)are these side effects of the medication?
Health Tips
I reccomend a counselling session to explore the present issue further which has not seemed to surface in all that you have typed.

Hello there! First of all, I would like to tell you that your life is absolutely important and you are completely and fully loved, even if it does not feel like it. Having a stranger say it may not feel true or genuine, but my sentiments are deeply true. I would also like to tell you that your feelings are valid, no matter how painful. I know you feel suffocated and a bit lost, however try not to lose hope. There are still some things you can try to free yourself from this suffocation you feel. There are some really good mental health organizations and private set-ups that can help you in a way that you need. These are either completely affordable or free and will provide you with the respite you are looking for. I realize that this may not seem like a solution to you as you have already been to several therapists and found it to be not as helpful as you might have hoped. But do not give up on trying. Sometimes, the therapists or professionals we go to aren’t always a perfect fit for us. That’s alright though, as it simply means that you need to find one that is a good match for your needs. Keep trying to find the right one for yourself and you will be grateful to yourself for hanging on. In the meantime, try to be kind and loving to yourself. You’re fighting so hard and you need all the love you can get. So, start by loving and taking care of yourself. I hope you are finally able to find the right mental health professional who will help you feel less and less suffocated and stuck. Take care of yourself and keep fighting!

While pharmaceutical treatment can help improve the physical symptoms of depression, it isn't enough to help with the psychological symptoms. You need to continue with your medication and also seek therapy. I understand how difficult it can be to open up to someone you barely know. The most important thing in therapy and counseling is to find the right therapist for you and someone who can meet your needs. The good thing is that there are several well-qualified counsellors to choose from. I'd strongly suggest you invest in your mental wellbeing and find a therapist you can connect with. It must be very difficult for you to live in so much pain, but there's always light at the end of the tunnel.
Next Steps
Find a good therapist who fits your needs.
Health Tips
1. Maintain a daily routine. 2. Exercise (anaerobic exercise)

Also gwith your medication, I would still suggest you to seek a professional support to overcome this issue.. Maybe, you did not get what you wanted from the person from whom you sought the support. That doesn't mean, you will not be able to talk to anyone.. It's like taking a second opinion..
