Hiv through vacutainer holder
Hello doctor, I got routine blood test but I saw they changed needle and syringe but they used the same vacutainer holder . I asked them and they saying It's safe . Is it safe to reuse vacutainer holder or can anyone get hiv or other blood borne disease through same holder ? Thanking you.

I see that you have a question regarding blood transmission infection .In your case as mentioned they had changed the needle but they use the same vacutainer holder so there is no chance of transmission of any STD’s such as HIV. STD transmitted through infected needle prick or unprotected sexual contact. So in your case they had changed the needle so no transmission occurred.
